Do I know the one true God?

And without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. - Hebrews 11:6 (NASB) Genuine faith does not simply believe that a divine being exists but that the God of Scripture is the only real and true God who exists. A person must believe not only that the true God exists but that He will reward faith in Him with forgiveness and righteousness because He has promised to do so. - John MacArthur To walk with God as Enoch did, one must embrace the truth about God, His Word, and how to be justified before God. There is only one true God. Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’ - Isaiah 46:9-10 (NKJV) Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to

Now Enoch lived sixty-five years, and fathered Methuselah. Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he fathered Methuselah, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were 365 years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. - Genesis 5:21-24 (NASB) In our society, we regularly recognize people that have been successful in a specific endeavor for 40, 50 or even 60+ years. The perseverance, discipline, and focus it takes to dedicate that many years to a task is unique. With that investment comes a comprehensive knowledge base of technical skill and practical experience that is extremely valuable to those who choose to follow the same path in life. If your desire is to walk with God, there is no better human role model to pattern after than Enoch, a man who walked with God for 300 years and never experienced physical death. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for befor

Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction? - Amos 3:3 (NLT) The physical act of walking with someone is not overly complex. There are only two variables in the equation, direction and speed. If two people agree to walk in the same direction at the same speed they will be walking together. It becomes more complex if they want to be mentally engaged with each other to communicate and mature in their relationship. That requires each person to be both physically and mentally present, sometimes referred to as "be where your feet are". When walking with the Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Sovereign, Immutable, Creator of the Universe, there is only one way. His way. And only one speed. His speed. His will, His way. His plan, His pace. Why, you may ask? Let's answer that question with His Word. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. - Micah 6:8 (NLT) The execution of this life can be overwhelming at times; working, paying bills, navigating a pandemic, parenting, complexities of personal and professional relationships, challenges over which we have little or no control, a medical diagnosis, overcoming feelings of inadequacy or fear, etc. At other times, it can feel as if everything is perfect in my world. This is the reality of our human existence on this earth. At the culmination of this life, the panoply of emotions and experiences during my stay, what I accomplished, what I acquired, who I helped, how much I gave, and how many good deeds I did will ultimately be evaluated by the way I chose to walk. How will I be remembered? He/She was kind. He/She was smart. He/She was giving. He/She was successful. He/She was a good person. -or- He/She walked with God. Most of us go thr

Am I growing in my knowledge of God?

I thank God continually for you, and I never give up praying for you, and this is my prayer. That God, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ and the all-glorious Father, will give you spiritual wisdom and the insight to know more of him: that you may receive that inner illumination of the Spirit which will make you realize how great is the hope to which he is calling you—the magnificence and splendor of the inheritance promised to Christians—and how tremendous is the power available to us who believe in God. - Ephesians 1:16-19 (Phillips) At the point of salvation, the new believer is enlightened with godly knowledge and insight. Paul's prayer is that they would continue to grow in this knowledge through the consistent study of the Word of God and in doing so, would better realize the hope, inheritance, and power they have in Christ. 1. The hope to which He has called you. Oh, dear children of mine (forgive the affection of an older man!), have you realized it? Here and now, we are God&
