Where's your mission field?

Image
But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about my death and resurrection." - Acts 1:8 (Living Bible) One definition of a witness is a public affirmation by word or example of religious faith or conviction. Sometimes our vision of a missionary is limited to those who travel to foreign countries to share the good news of Jesus Christ; however, your mission field actually begins in your own home and emanates to wherever the Sovereign God of the universe directs your path. Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter. - Charles Spurgeon place of employment - it is not a job, it is a calling golf league school volunteer on the phone with a service provider while driving caring for a loved one waiting in line on a hospital bed while waiting for God's direction ...take a few minutes to consider other mission fields you may n

Am I maturing in Christ-likeness?

God has given us everything we need to live a godly life through his divine power. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to Himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share your divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are amo

For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. - Ephesians 3:14-19 (ESV) For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. - 2 Peter 1:3 (Amplified Bible) At the point of salvation, God, in His divine power, has given us ALL things pertaining to life and godliness. You have all that you need to execute life in His strength. For in C

Am I fully yielded to God?

Do not go on offering members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness. But offer yourselves to God [in a decisive act] as those alive [raised] from the dead [to a new life], and your members [all of your abilities—sanctified, set apart] as instruments of righteousness [yielded] to God. - Romans 6:13 (Amplified Bible) Have I fully yielded ALL to God? My father was a worship leader at the church we attended for many years. As a teacher, he would seek to engage people in the hymns they were singing by sharing the back story of the author and the life events that inspired the writing of the hymn. The old hymns are loaded with such solid theology. I am sincerely grateful to have had a role model in my father, that lived out these truths on a daily basis and fully yielded to God in all that he did. The way he lived on Monday through Saturday was no different than the way he lived on Sunday. Is the way I live on Monday through Saturday the same as Sunday? The following is an example
