Am I serving God?

Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and do away with the gods which your fathers served beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. - Joshua 24:14-15 (NASB)

1. Who or what am I serving? Does my daily life reflect that God has first place?

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. - Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

Are my priorities, time, decisions, and desires demonstrating that God comes first in my life?

2. What competing influences might be drawing my heart away from the Lord?

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. - 1 John 2:15 (KJV)

Am I allowing worldly values, possessions, relationships, or personal ambitions to compete with my love for God?

3. Does my conduct match my profession of faith?

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. - James 1:22 (KJV)

Am I putting God's Word into practice, or am I satisfied with knowing what it says without obeying it?

4. What example am I setting for my family and those who observe my life?

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. - 1 Timothy 4:12 (KJV)

Do my words, attitudes, actions, love, and faith provide a godly example to those around me?

5. What decision of obedience do I need to make today rather than postpone?

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. - James 4:17 (KJV)

Is there something God has shown me through His Word that I know I need to do, but have been delaying?

Be Encouraged to serve Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
