Do I pray unceasingly?

Be happy in your faith at all times.
Never stop praying.
Be thankful, whatever the circumstances may be.
If you follow this advice you will be working out the will of God expressed to you in Jesus Christ. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (Phillips)

Prayer is as natural an expression of faith as breathing is of life. - Jonathan Edwards

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

We stand tallest and strongest on our knees. - Charles Stanley

You don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.  And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. - James 4:2b-3 (NLT)

Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire? - Corrie Ten Boom

And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and began to pray, saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done. ” - Luke 22:42 (NASB)

Are my prayers continuous throughout each day as I seek to know execute His will, or are they more like a fire alarm pull when things don't go my way as I execute my will?

Heavenly Father,
I come before You not to bend Your will to mine, but to bow my will to Yours.
You see what I desire, what I fear, and what I do not understand.
I confess that I often want control, comfort, and clarity on my terms.
Forgive me for trusting in my own wisdom instead of resting in Yours.
Change me, Lord.
Where I am anxious, give me Your peace.
Where I am proud, give me humility.
Where I am restless, teach me to wait on You.
Where my desires are misplaced, realign them with Your truth.
Help me to want what You want.
Teach me to say with sincerity, “Not my will, but Yours be done,” just as Jesus did.
Even if my circumstances do not change right away, let my heart be transformed—steadfast, trusting, and anchored in You.
I surrender this situation, and I surrender myself.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When your will is God's will, you will have your will. - Charles Spurgeon
