What is my motive?

For the eyes of Yahweh move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is wholly devoted to Him. - 2 Chronicles 16:9a (LSB)

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8 (LSB)

"Cleansing of the hands" symbolizes external behavior, whereas "purify your heart" refers to inner thoughts, motives, and desires of the heart. - John MacArthur

It is Direction, not Intention, that determines Destination.

It may be your intention, or you may be able to justify in your own mind what you are doing is the right thing, but God is Omniscient, knows your heart and the true motives of every action you execute. He will evaluate them on purity of your heart and obedience to Him.

Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31b (LSB)

Is what I am doing and how I am doing it bringing glory to God?

But Yahweh said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.” - 1 Samuel 16:7 (LSB)

What you do speaks so loudly, that what you say I cannot hear.

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, fulfill my joy, that you think the same way, by maintaining the same love, being united in spirit, thinking on one purpose, doing nothing from selfish ambition or vain glory, but with humility of mind regarding one another as more important than yourselves, not merely looking out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. - Philippines 2:1-4 (LSB)

Are my actions wholly devoted to His will, His way, His timing and for His glory?

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Yahweh, my rock and my Redeemer. - Psalm 19:14 (LSB)

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way. - Psalm 139:23-24 (LSB)

Be Encouraged to bring glory to God in everything you do.
