Who is your all in all? - Part 2

In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. - Ephesians 1:8b-10 (NASB)

Redemption brings in the limitless grace of God and divinely-bestowed spiritual understanding. At the end of this world's history, God will gather believers together in the millennial kingdom called here "an administration suitable to the fullness of the times," meaning the completion of history. After that, God will gather everything to Himself in eternity future, and the new heaven and new earth will be created. The new universe will be totally unified under Christ. - John MacArthur

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory. In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory. - Ephesians 1:11-14 (NASB)

Christ is the source of the believers inheritance, which is so certain that it is spoken as if it has already been received. Before the earth was formed, God sovereignly  that every elect sinner--however vile, useless, and deserving of death--by trusting in Christ would be made righteous. When God created the world, He gave it sufficient energy to begin immediately to operate as He had planned. It was not simply ready to function, but was created functioning. As God works out His plan according to the "counsel of His will," He energizes every believer with the power necessary for spiritual completion. The God-revealed gospel of Jesus Christ must be heard and believed to bring salvation. God's own Spirit comes to indwelling the believer and secures and preserves his eternal salvation. The sealing of which Paul speaks refers to an official mark of identification placed on a letter, contract, or other document. That document was thereby officially under the authority of the person whose stamp was on the seal. Four primary truths are signified by the seal: security, authenticity, ownership, and authority. The Holy Spirit is given by God as His pledge of the believer's future inheritance in glory. - John MacArthur

The witness of the Spirit within is not the basis nor the cause of our faith: faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. I, being a sinner, believe that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, and I rest my soul upon him, believing that he will save me; this is to be my standing, seal or no seal, sign or no sign. My dependence is not to be upon the seal of the Spirit, but upon the blood of the Son. The Spirit of God never takes the place of the Redeemer, he exercises his own particular office, which is to take from the things of Christ and show them to us, and not to put his own things in the place of Jesus. - Charles Spurgeon

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand - Edward Mote

Be Encouraged to build you life on Jesus Christ.
