Am I sharing the Gospel?

But in your hearts, set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect. And see to it that your conscience is entirely clear so that every time you are slandered or falsely accused, those who attack or disparage your good behavior in Christ will be shamed [by their own words], for it is better that you suffer [unjustly] for doing what is right if that should be God's will than [to suffer justly] for doing wrong. For indeed Christ died for sins once and for all, the Just and Righteous for the unjust and unrighteous [the Innocent for the guilty] so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit. - 1Peter 3:15-18 (Amplified Bible)

To be a soul winner is the happiest thing in this world. And with every soul you bring to Jesus Christ, you seem to get a new heaven here upon earth. - Charles Spurgeon

How should we approach sharing the Gospel?

1. Humbly

The results do not depend on us as "heart work" is God's work.

"Here is another story illustrating what the Kingdom of God is like: "A farmer sowed his field and went away, and as the days went by, the seeds grew and grew without his help. For the soil made the seeds grow. First, a leaf blade pushed through, and later the heads of wheat formed, and finally, the grain ripened, and then the farmer came at once with his sickle and harvested it." - Mark 4:26-29 (Living Bible)

2. Obediently

Practice what you preach, as your eternal reward is based on your faithfulness in conduct.

"You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its taste (purpose), how can it be made salty? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and walked on by people [when the walkways are wet and slippery]. "You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden, nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 5:13-16 (Amplified Bible)

Salvation is not for your fulfillment; it is for God's glory. - John MacArthur

3. Diligently

Your reward is based upon the measure of your commitment.

Then He said to them, "Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond]—and more will be given to you besides. For whoever has [a teachable heart], to him [understanding] will be given; and whoever does not have [a yearning for truth], even what he has will be taken away from him." - Mark 4:24-25 (Amplified Bible)

4. Confidently

God has determined a great outcome.

And he said, "With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade." - Mark 4:30-32 (ESV)

I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, on the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.
And to Him (the Messiah) was given dominion (supreme authority),
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations, and speakers of every language
Should serve and worship Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion.
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed. - Daniel 7:13-14 (Amplified Bible)

Whatever we do, it is certainly not for our own profit but because Christ's love controls us now. Since we believe that Christ died for all of us, we should also believe that we have died to the old life we used to live. He died for all so that all who live—having received eternal life from him—might live no longer for themselves, to please themselves, but to spend their lives pleasing Christ who died and rose again for them. - 2 Corinthians 5:13b-15 (Living Bible)

When a man is filled with the Word of God, you cannot keep him still;
if a man has got the Word, he must speak or die. - Dwight L. Moody

Be Encouraged to share the Gospel humbly, obediently, diligently, and confidently.
