Am I living an uncompromising life?
In a wealthy home, there are dishes made of gold and silver, as well as some made from wood and clay. The expensive dishes are used for guests, and the cheap ones are used in the kitchen or to put garbage in. If you stay away from sin, you will be like one of these dishes made of purest gold—the very best in the house—so that Christ himself can use you for his highest purposes. Run from anything that gives you the evil thoughts that young men often have, but stay close to anything that makes you want to do right. Have faith and love, and enjoy the companionship of those who love the Lord and have pure hearts. Again I say, don't get involved in foolish arguments, which only upset people and make them angry. God's people must not be quarrelsome; they must be gentle, patient teachers of those who are wrong. Be humble when you are trying to teach those who are mixed up concerning the truth. For if you talk meekly and courteously to them, they are more likely, with God's help, to turn away from their wrong ideas and believe what is true. Then they will come to their senses and escape from Satan's trap of slavery to sin, which he uses to catch them whenever he likes, and then they can begin doing the will of God. - 2 Timothy 2:20-26 (Living Bible)
We have so long compromised with the world and become so engulfed in its materialistic, stylistic value systems that we can barely comprehend an uncompromising life. We fight to be separated from the world, yet we're unable to define what that separation means because we're so brainwashed into accepting and indulging in the world's thought patterns and behaviors. Even when we know the Bible prohibits a certain activity, we often do it anyway. When we compromise, we substitute ourselves in place of God. - John MacArthur, An Uncompromising Life
What have I done at work that I would not have done if a compliance person was watching?
Have I recently disregarded a law because I was in a hurry or because everyone else was doing it?
Do I evaluate my actions based on God's Word or what the world deems as acceptable or consensual?
Would your coworkers or business associates characterize you as a person of integrity and uncompromising moral character? Would your children and neighbors also?
How have my compromises hindered my worship or service to God?
Obey God because you are his children; don't slip back into your old ways—doing evil because you knew no better. But be holy now in everything you do, just as the Lord is holy, who invited you to be his child. He himself has said, "You must be holy, for I am holy." - 1 Peter 1:14-16 (Living Bible)
Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is. - Ephesians 5:15-17 (Amplified Bible)
The greatest gift I can give to my Savior, who sacrificed His life as the greatest gift of all for the salvation of my soul, is to live an uncompromising life.
“O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has never acknowledged You [and the revelation of Your mercy], yet I have always known You; and these [believers] know [without any doubt] that You sent Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them [overwhelming their heart], and I [may be] in them.” - John 17:25-26 (Amplified Bible)
Be Encouraged to live an uncompromising life!
