How can I know I'm saved - Part 4

But, dearly loved friends, if our consciences are clear, we can come to the Lord with perfect assurance and trust, and get whatever we ask for because we are obeying him and doing the things that please him. And this is what God says we must do: Believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another. Those who do what God says—they are living with God and he with them. We know this is true because the Holy Spirit he has given us tells us so. - 1 John 3:21-24 (Living Bible)

The three major evidences of a transformed follower of Jesus Christ and true salvation are believing, loving, and obeying.1. Believe“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” - Acts 16:30b-31a (NKJV)2. LoveOne day an expert on Moses’ laws came to test Jesus’ orthodoxy by asking him this question: “Teacher, what does a man need to do to live forever in heaven?” Jesus replied, “What does Moses’ law say about it?” “It says,” he replied, “that you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind. And you must love your neighbor just as much as you love yourself.” “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you shall live!” - Luke 10:25-28 (Living Bible)3. ObeyBut those who keep on sinning are against God, for every sin is done against the will of God. And you know that he became a man so that he could take away our sins, and that there is no sin in him, no missing of God’s will at any time in any way. So if we stay close to him, obedient to him, we won’t be sinning either; but as for those who keep on sinning, they should realize this: They sin because they have never really known him or become his. The person who has been born into God’s family does not make a practice of sinning because now God’s life is in him; so he can’t keep on sinning, for this new life has been born into him and controls him—he has been born again. - 1 John 3:4-6,9 (Living Bible)
As part of His saving work, God will produce repentance, faith, sanctification, yieldedness, obedience, and ultimately glorification. Since He is not dependent on human effort in producing those elements, an experience that lacks any of them cannot be the saving work of God. If we are truly born of God, we have a faith that cannot fail to overcome the world. We may sin - we will sin - but the process of sanctification can never stall completely. God is at work in us and He will continue to perfect us until the day of Christ. - John MacArthur, The Gospel According to Jesus
May the God of peace himself make you entirely pure and devoted to God; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept strong and blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes back again. God, who called you to become his child, will do all this for you, just as he promised. - 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (Living Bible)When I survey the wondrous crosson which the Prince of glory died,my richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.Forbid it, Lord, that I should boastsave in the death of Christ, my God!All the vain things that charm me most,I sacrifice them through his blood.See, from his head, his hands, his feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down.Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,or thorns compose so rich a crown? Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small.Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all. - Isaac WattsBe Encouraged to believe intensely, love unconditionally, and obey absolutely.
