Do you know the Christ of Christmas?

Image
But although he made the world, the world didn't recognize him when he came. Even in his own land and among his own people, the Jews, he was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and receive him. But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them. All those who believe this are reborn!—not a physical rebirth resulting from human passion or plan—but from the will of God. And Christ became a human being and lived here on earth among us and was full of loving forgiveness and truth. And some of us have seen his glory—the glory of the only Son of the heavenly Father! - John 1:10-14 (Living Bible) And all who trust him—God's Son—to save them have eternal life; those who don't believe and obey him shall never see heaven, but the wrath of God remains upon them. - John 3:36 (Living Bible) Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged [for this One, there is no j

What do you think about Jesus?

Long ago, God spoke in many different ways to our fathers through the prophets, in visions, dreams, and even face to face, telling them little by little about his plans. But now, in these days, he has spoken to us through his Son to whom he has given everything and through whom he made the world and everything there is. God's Son shines out with God's glory, and all that God's Son is and does mark him as God. He regulates the universe by the mighty power of his command. He is the one who died to cleanse us and clear our record of all sin and then sat down in highest honor beside the great God of Heaven. Thus he became far greater than the angels, as proved by the fact that his name "Son of God," which was passed on to him from his Father, is far greater than the names and titles of the angels. For God never said to any angel, "You are my Son, and today I have given you the honor that goes with that name." But God said it about Jesus. Another time he said

I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things. - Isaiah 45:5-7 (NKJV) What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. - A. W. Tozer In this world of my truth, your truth, his truth, her truth, our truth, and their truth, we have lost sight of, and set aside, absolute truth. As such, we have constructed a god of our own choosing to appease our conscience and allow us to live the way we want to live based on our view of truth. How we view God is important as it determines where we will spend eternity. Independent of our view of God, it is imperative that we understand clearly how God views us. Here is what the Creator of the universe says about His cr

Do my actions match my words?

And how can we be sure that we belong to him? By looking within ourselves: are we genuinely trying to do what he wants us to do? Someone may say, "I am a Christian; I am on my way to heaven; I belong to Christ." But if he doesn't do what Christ tells him to, he is a liar. But those who do what Christ tells them to will learn to love God more and more. That is the way to know whether or not you are a Christian. Anyone who says he is a Christian should live as Christ did. - 1 John 2:3-6 (Living Bible) Take a few minutes to read the hymn lyrics below a few times and evaluate your heart's true desire as evidenced by your actions. Oh! to be like Thee, blessed Redeemer, This is my constant longing and prayer; Gladly I'll forfeit all of earth's treasures, Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear. Oh! to be like Thee, full of compassion, Loving, forgiving, tender, and kind, Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting, Seeking the wandering sinner to find. Oh! to be like Th

How has the grace of Jesus Christ transformed you?

Dearly loved friends, don't always believe everything you hear because someone says it is a message from God: test it first to see if it really is. For there are many false teachers around, and the way to find out if their message is from the Holy Spirit is to ask: Does it really agree that Jesus Christ, God's Son, actually became a man with a human body? If so, then the message is from God. If not, the message is not from God but from one who is against Christ, like the "Antichrist" you have heard about who is going to come, and his attitude of enmity against Christ is already abroad in the world. Dear young friends, you belong to God and have already won your fight with those who are against Christ because there is someone in your hearts who is stronger than any evil teacher in this wicked world. These men belong to this world, so, quite naturally, they are concerned about worldly affairs, and the world pays attention to them. But we are children of God; that is why
