Am I acutely conscious of the Presence of God?
In the beginning [before all time] was the Word ( Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being. - John 1:1-3 (Amplified Bible)
When you pray to accept Jesus as your personal Savior, the Holy Spirit immediately establishes residence in you. His presence initiates a personal relationship with your Creator, the God of the Universe. That personal relationship, as with any relationship, will only thrive and grow as you purposefully invest time and energy into the relationship to better understand who He is and what He desires for your life. In that process, you become more acutely conscious of His presence in your life every day. Conversely, if that relationship is not developed, His presence becomes a "ticket to Heaven" that is put on a shelf for use at a later time.Am I proactively increasing my knowledge of God?
How much time do I invest each day in conversation with God?
How does the time I invest with God compare to the time I spend with my earthly pursuits?
Whatever else it embraces, true Christian experience must always include a genuine encounter with God. Without this, religion is but a shadow, a reflection of reality, a cheap copy of an original once enjoyed by someone else of whom we have heard. It cannot but be a major tragedy in the life of any man to live in a church from childhood to old age and know nothing more real than some synthetic God compounded of theology and logic, but having no eyes to see, no ears to hear and no heart to love. The spiritual giants of old were men who at some time became acutely conscious of the real Presence of God and maintained that consciousness for the rest of their lives. - AW Tozer, "God's Pursuit of Man"
How can we develop a passion for finding God that will lead to an actual encounter with Him, an encounter that will free us to care about others, not to prove our value or to gain their approval, but to bless them? We cannot generate a true passion for God by an act of the will. No formulas will produce the passion we're after. Seasons of fasting, regular time in the Word, disciplined resistance to temptation, generous giving, exuberant worship, these are all good things, but they are not enough to fill us with passion for Christ. True passion for our Lord is a work of the Holy Spirit. It is He who entices us, luring us to pay attention to Christ. He uncovers the stirring reality of Christ all through the Bible. - Dr. Larry Crabb, "Finding God"
Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. - Jeremiah 29:13 (Amplified Bible)
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. - John 14:26 (ESV)
Be Encouraged to engage daily in meaningful conversations with your Heavenly Father to sensitize your heart to Holy Spirit's promptings.
