Am I redeeming the time?

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. - Ephesians 5:15-18 (KJV)

Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is. - Ephesians 5:15-17 (Amplified Bible)

A.W. Tozer used these four questions to identify our true priorities, which in turn align with how we spend our time.

1. What do you value most?
2. What would you most hate to lose?
3. What do your thoughts turn to most frequently when you are free to think of what you will?
4. What affords you the greatest pleasure?

The answer to these four questions will provide the answer to today's question. As a true Christ-follower, we know the "right answer" to each of these questions. However, there are times in our lives when the "right answer" may not align with the "actual answer".

Take a few minutes to compare the "right answer" with your "actual answer" while keeping in mind the 11th Commandment:

Thou shalt not fake thineself out.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see yourself as He sees you and to sensitize your heart to His leading with the time with which you have been entrusted every day.

Be Encouraged to redeem the time.
