What is hindering me from executing God's will?

What is hindering me from executing God's will?

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever. - 1 John 2:15-17 (NASB)

What is the priority of my life, the one thing around which everything else revolves?

Life on this earth takes place amidst two opposing realms that are in constant conflict. One is under the control of this world by Satan, and the other is under God's authority. Satan is the author of deception and confusion and will use the attractions of this world (money, power, pleasure, things, etc.) to keep your focus away from God's will. His only goal is to keep the true Christ-follower distracted with the things of this world to render them ineffective for the purposes of God's kingdom. Satan's message is, "God wants you to be happy; you should be able to have what you want, you have worked hard and deserve this, it is OK to find a way to get it."

In direct opposition to Satan's deception is seeking God's will and submitting to His rule over every area of our life. The bottom line is obedience. No person can serve two masters; you will either obey Satan's lies or God's will.

Who are you obeying?

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:2 (NASB)

Am I spending enough time alone with God, in His Word and in prayer, to truly know His will and direction for my life?

Am I sensitive and responsive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in executing His will each day?

What would someone reviewing only my daily calendar for the last 30 days conclude about my desire to execute God's will?

Be Encouraged to read God's Word and pray every day!
