How can I find happiness?

 Happy are the people whose God is the Lord! - Psalm 144:15b (KJV)

Is the God of your life the God of the Bible?

God can’t give us peace and happiness apart from Himself because there is no such thing.

― C.S. Lewis

What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! What joys when sins are covered over! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record. There was a time when I wouldn’t admit what a sinner I was. But my dishonesty made me miserable and filled my days with frustration. All-day and all night, your hand was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water on a sunny day until I finally admitted all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide them. I said to myself, “I will confess them to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Now I say that each believer should confess his sins to God when he is aware of them, while there is time to be forgiven. Judgment will not touch him if he does. - Psalm 32:1-6 (Living Bible)

What sin do I finally need to repent and stop trying to hide?

It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased.

― C.S. Lewis

All to Jesus I surrender,

All to Him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

I surrender all. I surrender all;

All to Thee, my blessed Savior,

I surrender all.

- Judson Van De Venter

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. - Romans 15:13

Be Encouraged to replace self-reliance with willful obedience and self-justification with genuine repentance.
